The Human Paradox

Who leads a better life? Ants or humans? Does an ant hold itself over the collective hive? Does the ant wonder about its purpose? Does the ant wonder about death? Do ant wars end in ant prisoners or ant treaties? Ants see themselves as apart of the machine of nature. Humans believe they are undeniably separate. Who do you think will last longer on the Earth? Ants or Humans?

Some people look to the heavens and see an infinite space ready to be explored or shared with the rest of the intelligent species of the Universe. Some see space as an infinite and unknowable nothingness. People see life as a journey to the next life. People see death as the annihilation of the self. We want to live as long as possible or not to live at all. Some think our technology will make us live forever. Let us think about that. Would someone really want to live forever or just exist in an infinite time loop? The human story being told over and over and over with no beginning nor end. When we grow old and are losing every ability of youth. Do we still want to carry on? It is said jellyfish age then devolve back to their younger form and that they are immortal. If only we could ask the jellyfish. Is it worth it?
